BENEFITS / DESCRIPTION:

The Hoof It Aggressor is the heavy-cutting disc in our range. It is built for one job: fast removal of overgrown horn from severely neglected or chronically lame cattle. The cutting profile is more aggressive than the Pro 8-blade — it grabs harder, removes material faster, and demands experienced hands. This is not a beginner disc, and it is not the right disc for routine farm trimming. It is the disc you reach for when you have a cow that has not been trimmed in 18 months and is walking on her toes.

Professional trimmers use the Aggressor as a “first cut” tool — knock off the heavy growth fast, then switch to the Pro or Intermediate disc to finish the surface cleanly. The carbide blade insert system is identical to our Pro disc, so insert packs are interchangeable across the range. Replace inserts as a full set, not one at a time, to keep the disc balanced under high-load cutting.

The Aggressor ships from Mount Compass on the Fleurieu Peninsula. We designed it for the contractors and lameness-treatment vets who came to us asking for a disc that could handle the worst-case cattle without the operator having to fight the tool. If you are not regularly seeing severely overgrown cattle, the Pro 8-blade is the better choice — the Aggressor is a specialist tool, not a daily driver.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Who should buy the Aggressor instead of the Pro?

Professional contractors who regularly see severely overgrown or chronically neglected cattle, and vets doing lameness corrective work. If you are a farmer trimming your own well-managed herd, you do not need the Aggressor — the Intermediate or Pro will serve you better and be safer.

Can the Aggressor be used for routine trimming?

It can, but it is overkill and increases the risk of over-cutting on healthy claws. Most professional trimmers carry both an Aggressor (for the heavy cuts) and a Pro or Intermediate (for finishing). One disc per cattle class is the experienced trimmers approach.

How fast does the Aggressor wear inserts?

Faster than the Pro — typically 30–40% less insert life under heavy use. The aggressive cutting profile loads the carbide tips harder. Always carry a spare set of Aggressor inserts (INS-AGR-101) on contracting jobs.

Is the Aggressor compatible with cordless grinders?

Yes, but battery life drops noticeably under aggressive cutting. Plan for 20–30 minutes per fully-charged 5Ah 18V battery, or use a higher-voltage 36V/40V cordless system for sustained work.

What is the difference between the Pro and Aggressor in real-world use?

On a healthy claw at routine trimming time, the Pro and Aggressor feel similar — both cut fast. The difference shows up on heavily overgrown horn: the Aggressor keeps cutting cleanly, the Pro starts to slow down. Choose based on what cattle you typically see, not on which sounds more capable.
